In the beginning, I thought “If I’m going to do something, the name had better be unique”.
But, these days I think “I want to offer a tea ceremony that modern people can enjoy”. Senno Rikyu created the tea ceremony that was considered avant garde that about 500 years ago. But now it is the standard, and no one has tried to change that style for 400 years.
However, I think that Senno Rikyu changed the tea ceremony format in such a way to meet the contemporary demands in the age of civil strife.
So, I want to change the tea ceremony into same thing in line with the present age! It never disturbs the past in a negative, rather it is my work that changes while I accept the past, assuming it as the groundwork
Perhaps I can be called an “Art producer” in modern parlance. If the needs arises, I want to try to collaborate with someone or something without hesitation. On a new stage, I want to continue surpassing my past imagination! When I look around calmly, I know I still have much to learn.
